Step one to the final design!

Updated: Mar 2, 2020

First, we attended a really nice presentation by Peter Ljungstrand from RISE Interactive, who showed us what kind of smart materials can be integrated into textiles, and how, using very practical examples.

Following the presentation, we had a go at testing the conductive thread integrated into our knitted sample; we connected our sample to the "makey makey" using a computer. When we would touch the sample, a melody would play on the digital piano. It was very simple, but it was nice to see our first trial working!

Then, we focused on our design; we have decided to incorporate conductive thread into weaved textile on which we would paint using thermochromic paint afterwards. Today, we finished weaving our material; we are looking forward to painting it tomorrow and to play around with the conductive thread!
